New employees at the University of Minnesota are required to complete the I-9 form on or before the first day of work for pay. The employee must take the following steps to fulfill this requirement:

The Foreign National Information System (FNIS) Form is completed by employees who are foreign nationals. The form establishes the employee's country of tax residency.
If an employee lives outside of Minnesota, they will need to complete the Non-Minnesota W-4 tax form in PeopleSoft will ensure the proper state taxes are withheld.

Units routinely monitor and identify issues with employee timesheets that may require the unit to accurately adjust an employee's timesheet.
